are some of the earliest photos of Wymondley Park FC teams, kindly lent
to us by John Ferguson, a founder of the club and father of two former
players. Can you see yourself there? Can you see your dad or uncle? If
so, we'd like to hear their memories of playing for the club or see any
photos they have. Some of these photographs are from the very beginning
of the club, in early 1981. The latest is from 1988. Somebody out there has some from the 1990s. Dig them out! If you want to know more about the early days of the club, see the History page. If you or someone you know can tell us more, we'd like to hear. It's your history so let's record it.  These
two pictures are from May 1982 and record the Wymondley players at an
end of season prize giving event in Little Wymondley. The
match action photo is the oldest we have, taken in March 1981.
Wymondley is playing in the light blue strip. The match was played at
William Ransom school against another local team prior to joining the
Royston Crow league. The group sitting in the lower photo is the second
team formed by the club, this one for
the under-8s age group. The group photo to the left is from June 1984, taken on Walsworth Common.The one below is from 1988. Note the squad kit is still yellow, not the black and white that we are all familiar with now. |
